Hrgovic Stops Replacement Mansour in Three

Filip Hrgovic wins in impressive fashion


Undefeated heavyweight prospect Filip Hrgovic faced veteran and last minute replacement Amir Mansour for the vacate WBC International heavyweight title.

Hrgovic, from the opening bell used his height and reach to keep the challenger off balance. The jab was very effective an had the 36 year old Mansour on his back-foot the entire fight.

Rounds two and three saw the 26 year-old Croatian boxer mixing up his attack landing the straight right virtually at will.

The shorter southpaw challenger saw the canvas in the early part of round three. Moments later he was finished by a straight right counter.

In 2016, Mansour retired on his stool after obtaining a fractured jaw against Dominic Breazeale, however, this is the only time he has been knocked out in his career.

INTERESTING FACTS

Although from Croatia, Hrgovic was making his first appearance in his home country.

Mansour is a former WBC USNBC champion and has lost both times fighting outside the US.

The newly crowned young champion continues to make noise in the most popular division in boxing.

The Croatian fighter is now the WBC International champion and improves to 6-0 with 5 knockouts!
